An email has To: ram@test.com; Cc: raj@test.com, ravi@test.com; Bcc: swami@test.com, rama@test.com. Which addresses will swami be able to see when he receives the message?

A blind-copy recipient sees only the To and Cc addresses, so swami sees ram, raj and ravi.

Showing only ram misses the visible Cc names raj and ravi that every recipient can read.

Listing ram with rama is wrong because Bcc addresses stay hidden from everyone.

Adding rama to the To and Cc set again exposes a Bcc name that must remain concealed.

Each Bcc recipient is unaware of the other Bcc recipients on the same message.

This is why Bcc is used to protect the privacy of a large mailing list.
