Sri Aurobindo Ghosh was a renowned and important personality in the history of the Indian Resurgence and Indian nationalism. He was born on 15th August 1872 in Calcutta (Kolkata). He received his education in England and returned to India in 1893. Aurobindo's political career is divided into two periods, the first dating from his arrival in India and extending to his Ashram in Pondicherry.
