Consider that the total number of Indian tourists who went to Japan in 2022 was 24000. If A is the number of Indian tourists who went to the UK and B is the number of Indian overseas tourists who were 50 years old and above, then (A, B) equals:
A(5000, 25000)
B(6000, 30000)
C(7000, 35000)
D(8000, 40000) ✓ Correct
Correct answer: (D) (8000, 40000) — The pair (A, B) is (8000, 40000), so that is the answer.
Explanation
★The pair (A, B) is (8000, 40000), so that is the answer.
★Japan is 30 percent of the total, and 30 percent equals 24000, so the total is 80000.
★The UK is 10 percent of the total.
★10 percent of 80000 is 8000, so A is 8000.
★The 50 years and above group is 50 percent of the total.
★50 percent of 80000 is 40000, so B is 40000, giving (8000, 40000).
