BBoth Statement I and Statement II are false ✓ Correct
CStatement I is true but Statement II is false
DStatement I is false but Statement II is true
Correct answer: (B) Both Statement I and Statement II are false — Both statements are false, so the answer is both false.
Explanation
★Both statements are false, so the answer is both false.
★In August 1942 Mahatma Gandhi was arrested and lodged in the Aga Khan Palace, not the Yerwada jail.
★Sarojini Naidu was also lodged in the Aga Khan Palace at that time.
★In January 1932 Gandhi was arrested and lodged in the Yerwada jail, not the Aga Khan Palace.
★There he fasted against the Communal Award of MacDonald, and the Poona Pact was signed on 26 September 1932.
★So both statements have the jails interchanged and are therefore false.
