Explanation
Both statements are true and the reason explains the assertion, so the answer is both true with R explaining A.
The Turks avoided showing living human and animal figures on their buildings.
This followed the Islamic dislike of depicting living beings in religious art.
Instead they decorated buildings with geometrical and floral patterns.
They also used panels of fine writing bearing verses from the Quran.
This use of non-figural design is exactly why they avoided the Hindu style.
