Given below are two statements, one labelled as Assertion (A) and the other labelled as Reason (R). Select the correct answer from the codes below.

Assertion (A): Barkhurdar, son of Abdur Rahman, as he had come to court without a summons, was ordered by Jahangir to go back.

Reason (R): It is not according to good manners to go to the king's banquet without a summons, otherwise there would be no forbidding of the doors and walls to the foot of desire.

ABoth A and R are true and R is the correct explanation of A ✓ Correct
BBoth A and R are true, but R is not the correct explanation of A
CA is true, but R is false
DA is false, but R is true
Correct answer: (A) Both A and R are true and R is the correct explanation of A — Both statements are true and the reason explains the assertion, so the answer is both true with R explaining A.
Explanation
Both statements are true and the reason explains the assertion, so the answer is both true with R explaining A.
Jahangir did order Barkhurdar to go back from the court.
This was because Barkhurdar had come without a proper summons.
The reason states the rule of court manners against coming uninvited.
It holds that the doors must keep out those who come without leave.
So the rule of manners is exactly why Jahangir sent him back.
