Assertion (A): Akbar was keen to extend the operation of measurement and realise revenue in cash; in this regard he was uncompromising and over-strict.

Reason (R): While Akbar's reforms were being carried out under the guidance of Shah Mansur and Todar Mal, a mutiny broke out in Bihar and Bengal.

ABoth A and R are true and R is the correct explanation of A
BBoth A and R are true, but R is not the correct explanation of A
CA is true, but R is false
DA is false, but R is true ✓ Correct
Correct answer: (D) A is false, but R is true — The assertion is false but the reason is true, so the answer is A false but R true.
Explanation
The assertion is false but the reason is true, so the answer is A false but R true.
Akbar was not uncompromising and over-strict in extending measurement and cash revenue.
He aimed rather to bring more land under cultivation and to make the demand fair.
So the assertion is false.
But it is true that a mutiny broke out in Bihar and Bengal during his land reforms.
These reforms were carried out under Shah Mansur and Todar Mal, so the reason is true.
