ABoth A and R are correct and R is the correct explanation of A ✓ Correct
BBoth A and R are correct but R is not the correct explanation of A
CA is correct but R is not correct
DA is not correct but R is correct
Correct answer: (A) Both A and R are correct and R is the correct explanation of A — Both are correct and R explains A, so the answer is both correct with R explaining A.
Explanation
Both are correct and R explains A, so the answer is both correct with R explaining A.
Under Aurangzeb, the claim over the property of a deceased mansabdar was limited to the mutaliba.
In 1691 Aurangzeb issued a farman not to attach the property of nobles whose heirs were in government service.
This was because the heirs could be asked to pay the mutaliba contracted by the deceased.
The farman thus explains why the claim was limited to the mutaliba.
So both statements are correct and the reason explains the assertion.
