The number of literate males of City D is what percent more than the number of literate females of City D?
A160
B60 ✓ Correct
C61.538
D120
Correct answer: (B) 60 — The answer is 60 percent.
Explanation
The answer is 60 percent.
The literate females of City D are 16 percent of 25 lakh, which is 4 lakh.
The literate males of City D are 16 percent of 40 lakh, which is 6.4 lakh.
The excess is 6.4 minus 4, which is 2.4 lakh.
As a percent of 4 lakh, this is 2.4 divided by 4, times 100.
That is 60 percent.
So the answer is 60 percent.
