The number of Model-P cars sold in City D is approximately what percent of the number of Model-R cars sold in City A?
A145
B185
C83
D235 ✓ Correct
Correct answer: (D) 235 — The figure is about 235 percent, so the answer is 235.
Explanation
★The figure is about 235 percent, so the answer is 235.
★Model-P cars in City D are 6720, as computed before.
★In City A the R part of the ratio 7:7:4 is 4 of 18.
★So Model-R cars in City A are 90000 times 14.3 percent times 4 of 18, which is 2860.
★As a percentage this is 6720 over 2860 times 100.
★That is about 234.96 percent.
★Rounded, that is about 235 percent.
