College D: 2760 employees, ratio 10:13. College E: 2840 employees, ratio 13:7.
What is the ratio of the number of boys who appeared from school C in 2019 to the number of girls who appeared from school E in 2021?
A5 : 4
B8 : 7
C9 : 8
D10 : 9 ✓ Correct
Correct answer: (D) 10 : 9 — The required ratio is 10 to 9.
Explanation
The required ratio is 10 to 9.
In school C in 2019 boys are 44 percent and the difference 60 is 12 percent of the total.
So the boys number 60 over 12 times 44, which is 220.
In school E in 2021 boys are 70 percent and the difference 264 is 40 percent of the total.
So the girls at 30 percent number 264 over 40 times 30, which is 198.
The ratio 220 to 198 simplifies to 10 to 9.
