A1, 2, 3 only
B1, 3 only
C2, 4 only ✓ Correct
D3, 4 only
Correct answer: (C) 2, 4 only — Statements 2 and 4 are correct, so that is the answer.
Explanation
Statements 2 and 4 are correct, so that is the answer.
Successive discounts of 12 and 5 percent give about 16.4 percent, so Rs.209 implies an original of Rs.250.
Two successive 20 percent discounts equal 36 percent.
The difference from a 35 percent discount is 1 percent, equal to Rs.22, so the bill is Rs.2200.
Statements 1 and 3 do not check out on calculation.
Hence 2 and 4 is correct.
