Certainty is logical, resting on the necessity of valid inference rather than feeling or fact.

A conclusion is certain when it follows necessarily from its premises.

This necessity is a property of the reasoning, not of the world's objects.

Emotional comfort or existence would not by itself make a claim certain.

Certainty therefore belongs to the domain of logic.
