The ratio of the percentage increase in sales to the percentage increase in profit for HP showroom D across all outlets in 2021 over 2020 was
A8:9
B11:13
C17:19
D6:5 ✓ Correct
Correct answer: (D) 6:5 — The ratio is 6 to 5, so the answer is 6 to 5.
Explanation
★The ratio is 6 to 5, so the answer is 6 to 5.
★Showroom D's total sales were 180 times 5, which is 900 lakh, in 2020 and 240 times 6, which is 1440 lakh, in 2021.
★So sales rose by 540 on 900, which is a 60 percent increase.
★D's total profit was 240 lakh in 2020 and 360 lakh in 2021.
★So profit rose by 120 on 240, which is a 50 percent increase.
★The ratio of 60 percent to 50 percent is 6 to 5.
★So the answer is 6 to 5.
