ARs. 165 ✓ Correct
BRs. 175
CRs. 155
DRs. 166
Correct answer: (A) Rs. 165 — The average cost of a chair is Rs. 165.
Explanation
The average cost of a chair is Rs. 165.
The total cost of everything is Rs. 8280.
Five tables at Rs. 1227 each cost 5 times 1227, which is Rs. 6135.
So the thirteen chairs together cost 8280 minus 6135, which is Rs. 2145.
Dividing Rs. 2145 by thirteen chairs gives Rs. 165 each.
The known table total is removed to isolate the chair total.
The chair average is then the chair total divided by the chair count.
