The annual income of D is how much (in rupees) less than that of A?

Paper 1 · Data Interpretation UGC NET December 2022 (11.03.2023) Shift-II (Computer)
Passage
The following table gives the monthly income and the expenditures on food, accommodation, shopping and travelling of six friends A to F, some values in rupees and some as a percentage of monthly income, with a few values missing. It is given that monthly income equals salary plus incentive, that the incentive is 15 percent of the salary, that all six friends save 40 percent of their monthly income, and that there is no expenditure other than those in the table. Working from the table, the monthly incomes are A 105800, B 110400, C 96600, D 101200, E 92000 and F 87400. Based on the data in the table, answer the questions that follow.
The annual income of D is how much (in rupees) less than that of A?
A4600
B52200
C55200 ✓ Correct
D4900
Correct answer: (C) 55200 — D's annual income is 55200 less than A's, so the answer is 55200.
Explanation
D's annual income is 55200 less than A's, so the answer is 55200.
A's monthly income is 105800 and D's is 101200.
So each month D earns 4600 less than A.
Over a year this gap is 4600 times 12.
That equals 55200.
So D's annual income is 55200 below A's.
So the answer is 55200.
