For C the males are 8000, the females are 35 percent and the transgenders are 15 percent. For D the males are 45 percent, the females are 3600 and the transgenders are 25 percent. For E the males are 38 percent, the females are 32 percent and the transgenders are 4200. Based on the data, answer the questions.
The male population of City E is how much more than the female population of City A?
A2900
B2840
C2980
D2920 ✓ Correct
Correct answer: (D) 2920 — The answer is 2920.
Explanation
The answer is 2920.
In City A the transgenders are 100 minus 45 plus 30, which is 25 percent, and this equals 2000, so the total is 8000.
So the females in A are 30 percent of 8000, which is 2400.
In City E the transgenders are 100 minus 38 plus 32, which is 30 percent, and this equals 4200, so the total is 14000.
So the males in E are 38 percent of 14000, which is 5320.
The difference is 5320 minus 2400, which is 2920.
So the answer is 2920.
