Placing the premises together, the mammal class lies inside the warm-blooded class while the lizard class lies wholly outside it.

Since mammals are contained in what lizards are excluded from, no lizard can be a mammal, which is Statement 1.

Taking the second premise alone, "No lizards are warm-blooded" converts simply into "No warm-blooded animals are lizards", which is Statement 3.

The derivation uses a categorical syllogism for the joint conclusion and simple conversion of an E proposition for the individual one.
