Study the following tables and answer the questions from 01 to 05. The following tables show percent of six types of books in two shops. Shop-I (Total no. of Books = 12600): A 19%, B 21%, C 8%, D 16%, E 11%, F 25%. Shop-II (Total no. of Books = 14500): A 15%, B 14%, C 18%, D 12%, E 14%, F 27%.
In both the shops, the difference in number of books of which type is lowest?
The count difference between the two shops must be found for each type.
Type A: 2394 versus 2175, a difference of 219, the smallest of all types.
Type B: 2646 versus 2030 = 616; Type C: 1008 versus 2610 = 1602; Type D: 2016 versus 1740 = 276.
Type E: 1386 versus 2030 = 644; Type F: 3150 versus 3915 = 765.
The minimum absolute difference is 219, which belongs to Type A.
Type D, at 276, is the next lowest and the main distractor.
Because the totals differ, equal percentages do not mean equal counts, so each difference is computed from actual numbers.
