A5 : 9
B10 : 17 ✓ Correct
C10 : 13
D12 : 17
Correct answer: (B) 10 : 17 — The required ratio for school C is 10 to 17.
Explanation
★The required ratio for school C is 10 to 17.
★Boys of C scoring 90-95% are 10 percent of 10000 times 3 over 8.
★This gives 1000 times 3, that is 3000 over 8 as the raw value.
★Boys of C scoring 95% and above are 17 percent of 6000 times 5 over 8.
★Comparing the two expressions and cancelling common factors gives 10 to 17.
★So the ratio of 90-95% boys to 95%-and-above boys in school C is 10 to 17.
