The B.A., B.C.A. and B.B.A. enrolments are: College A 275, 350 and 425; College B 300, 325 and 475; College C 325, 300 and 325; College D 450, 375 and 425; and College E 325, 425 and 225. Based on the data, answer the questions.
What is the respective ratio of the total number of students studying B.C.A. in colleges C and E together to those studying B.A. in colleges A and B together?
A24:23
B25:27
C29:23 ✓ Correct
D29:27
Correct answer: (C) 29:23 — The answer is 29 to 23.
Explanation
★The answer is 29 to 23.
★B.C.A. in colleges C and E is 300 plus 425, which is 725.
★B.A. in colleges A and B is 275 plus 300, which is 575.
★So the ratio is 725 to 575.
★Dividing both by 25 gives 29 to 23.
★So the ratio simplifies to 29 to 23.
★So the answer is 29 to 23.
