The number of students leaving is approximately what percent of the number of students taking admission in College Q from 2016 to 2021?
A37
B43
C39 ✓ Correct
D41
Correct answer: (C) 39 — The answer is about 39 percent.
Explanation
The answer is about 39 percent.
For College Q the admissions total 2100 plus 900 plus 650 plus 570 plus 600 plus 680, which is 5500.
The students who left total 500 plus 430 plus 420 plus 380 plus 440, which is 2170.
So the leaving share is 2170 divided by 5500, times 100.
That is about 39.45 percent, which rounds to 39.
The other options do not match this value.
So the answer is about 39 percent.
