The number of students leaving is approximately what percent of the number of students taking admission in College Q from 2016 to 2021?
A37
B43
C39 ✓ Correct
D41
Correct answer: (C) 39 — The answer is about 39 percent.
Explanation
★The answer is about 39 percent.
★For College Q the admissions total 2100 plus 900 plus 650 plus 570 plus 600 plus 680, which is 5500.
★The students who left total 500 plus 430 plus 420 plus 380 plus 440, which is 2170.
★So the leaving share is 2170 divided by 5500, times 100.
★That is about 39.45 percent, which rounds to 39.
★The other options do not match this value.
★So the answer is about 39 percent.
