Based on the data, answer the questions that follow.
In College A, if the number of non-teaching females is 2 more than half the number of teaching females, then the difference between non-teaching males and non-teaching females is
A130
B123 ✓ Correct
C120
D118
Correct answer: (B) 123 — The difference is 123, so the answer is 123.
Explanation
The difference is 123, so the answer is 123.
College A has 756 employees and 526 males, so it has 230 females.
The females split into teaching and non-teaching females.
Let the teaching females be x, so the non-teaching females are x by 2 plus 2.
Then x plus x by 2 plus 2 equals 230, which gives x equal to 152 teaching females.
So the non-teaching females are 152 by 2 plus 2, which is 78, and non-teaching males are 201.
The difference is 201 minus 78, which is 123.
