A224
B102
C55 ✓ Correct
D79
Correct answer: (C) 55 — The difference is 55, so the answer is 55.
Explanation
The difference is 55, so the answer is 55.
College D has 82 females, split equally into teaching and non-teaching females.
Let each be x, so x plus x equals 82, giving x equal to 41.
So teaching females and non-teaching females are 41 each.
Teaching males are 5 more than teaching females, which is 46.
College D has 142 males, so non-teaching males are 142 minus 46, which is 96.
The difference is 96 minus 41, which is 55.
